PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide) is a crystalline (crystallinity 55%-65%) high-rigidity white powder polymer, with high heat resistance (continuous service temperature up to 240℃), excellent mechanical strength, rigidity, flame retardancy, chemical resistance, electrical properties, and dimensional stability. It has superior wear resistance, creep resistance, and flame retardancy. It is self-extinguishing, reaching UL94V-0 grade. It maintains good electrical performance even under high temperature and high humidity conditions. It has good flowability, is easy to mold, and has almost no sinkholes or dimples during molding. It has good affinity with various inorganic fillers. Its development has shortened the gap between standard thermoplastic materials (e.g., PA, POM, PET, etc.) and engineering plastics.
Characteristics: The maximum allowable working temperature in air is very high (can work continuously at 220°C, short-term can reach 260°C), maintaining high mechanical strength, stiffness, and hardness in high-temperature environments, excellent chemical corrosion resistance and hydrolysis resistance (no solvent has been found that can dissolve polyphenylene sulfide below 200°C, and it has strong resistance to inorganic acids, bases, and salts), wear and friction resistance, very good dimensional stability, resistance to high-energy radiation, good UV resistance, inherent flame retardancy, and excellent electrical insulation.
