POM•Polyoxymethylene(Delrin)
English name: Polyformaldehyde, abbreviated as: POM or Acetal. Polyoxymethylene is a high melting point, high crystalline plastic. It can be divided into copolymer and homopolymer types, with POM-C copolymer commonly used in semi-finished products on the market. Due to its excellent comprehensive properties and smooth, glossy surface, POM is very suitable for machining, especially for manufacturing precision parts. It can be used for a long time in the temperature range of -40 to 100°C.
The hydrolysis resistance, strong alkali resistance, and thermal oxidative degradation resistance of copolymer polyoxymethylene (POM-C) are stronger than those of homopolymer polyoxymethylene. Homopolymer polyoxymethylene (POM-H) has higher mechanical strength, rigidity, hardness, and creep resistance compared to POM-C, as well as a lower thermal expansion coefficient and better wear resistance.
Delrin® AF is a mixture of POM-H and PTFE. Compared to pure POM-H, it is softer, has reduced stiffness, and is smoother. This material provides excellent sliding properties.

Disadvantages:
· Not resistant to acids, not resistant to strong alkalis
· Not resistant to radiation from sunlight and ultraviolet light
· Non-self-extinguishing, cannot be placed near fire.
Application Range:
POM is widely used in the manufacture of various sliding and rotating machinery and precision parts such as rollers, guide wheels, gears, bearings, shaft sleeves, fixtures, levers, handles, etc. It is used in industries spanning automotive, electronics, garment manufacturing, medical, machinery, and sports equipment.
