German Imported PAI (Polyamide Imide)
I. Product Introduction:
TLON PAI (Polyamide Imide), English name: polyamide, is a new type of engineering plastic containing amide groups. Due to the highly stable complex ring structure in the polyimide molecule, it exhibits unparalleled heat resistance and low-temperature resistance compared to other polymer materials. It maintains mechanical properties and dimensional stability in high-temperature environments.
● TLON 4203 PAI (Brown): Density: 1.41 g/cm³, known for its toughness and impact strength among PAIs. With inherent high-temperature resistance, good dimensional stability, and excellent machinability, TLON 4203 PAI is commonly used in the production of precision parts for high-tech equipment. Additionally, its good electrical insulation properties make it widely applicable in electrical components.
● TLON 4301 PAI (Black): Density: 1.45 g/cm³, filled with PTFE and graphite, it shows better wear resistance and lower friction coefficient compared to unfilled types. TLON 4301 PAI also demonstrates dimensional stability over a wide temperature range. This grade is often used in applications requiring high wear resistance, such as non-lubricated bearings, seals, bearing isolation rings, and reciprocating compressor parts.
● TLON 5530 PAI (Black): Density: 1.61 g/cm³. It has 30% glass fiber reinforcement. Compared to TLON 4203 PAI, it exhibits better rigidity, greater strength, and improved toughness. It is well-suited for manufacturing structural components. It can support fixed loads for extended periods at high temperatures. Due to its dimensional stability at 250°C, TLON 5530 PAI is commonly used for precision parts, such as in the electronics and semiconductor industries. Care should be taken when using TLON 5530 PAI for sliding components, as glass fibers can scratch surfaces.
II. Main Characteristics:
Allows operation at very high temperatures in the air, with good dimensional stability within the range of 250°C. It features excellent wear and friction properties, outstanding UV resistance, superior high-energy radiation resistance, and inherent low flammability. It has high strength, high insulation, radiation resistance, self-lubrication, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion.
III. Application Fields:
PAI is commonly used for precision parts in high-tech equipment and in applications requiring high wear resistance, as well as in electronics and semiconductor industries. It is suitable for products operating under high temperatures, high vacuum, strong radiation, and ultra-low temperature conditions, including aerospace and oil drilling equipment.
IV. Processing Tips:
● TLON PAI is susceptible to various chemical damages. Steam can also rapidly degrade the performance of this material. When high-temperature operation with specific chemical and hydrolysis resistance is required, PEEK may be an ideal material.
● Due to the relatively high moisture absorption of TLON PAI, if parts are to operate at high temperatures or require high machining accuracy, they should be dried before installation. If the parts are damp and then rapidly operate in an environment above 200°C, it can lead to thermal shock deformation.
