● NOMEX Physical Properties:
Unique Dielectric Strength
NOMEX products can withstand electric stress/dielectric stress of 18*40KV/mm (457*1015V/mil), depending on the model and thickness, and do not require further treatment with varnish or resin.
● Mechanical Toughness
Dense NOMEX products have very high strength and resilience. Thinner products have flexibility, and all products exhibit good tear and abrasion resistance.
● Thermal Stability
NOMEX products are minimally affected by temperatures not exceeding 200℃, and their electrical and mechanical properties remain unaffected, even at high temperatures. Additionally, these effective properties of NOMEX products can allow for long-term operation when continuously exposed to temperatures of 220℃. Even at 250℃, NOMEX products will not melt, flow, or promote combustion.
● Chemical Compatibility
NOMEX is generally unaffected by most solvents and is highly resistant to acid and alkali corrosion. It is compatible with all types of paints, adhesives, transformer fluids, lubricants, and coolants, and due to NOMEX products being difficult to digest, they are not susceptible to degradation by insects, fungi, or mold.
● Low-Temperature Performance
Due to NOMEX's unique polymer structure, it can be used in various low-temperature applications, where the tensile strength of NOMEX 410 insulation paper and NOMEX 993 laminates exceeds room temperature strength values at the boiling point of nitrogen (77K).
● Insensitivity to Moisture
When NOMEX products are balanced at a relative humidity of 95%, their dielectric strength is 95% of that in a completely dry state, while many mechanical properties actually improve.
● Non-Toxic / Flame Resistant
NOMEX products do not produce any known toxic reactions in humans or animals, do not melt in air, and do not promote combustion. At 220℃, their limiting oxygen index (LOI) is greater than 20.8 (the critical value for combustion in normal air), hence they do not burn. NOMEX products meet the flame resistance standards of UL94V-0.

NOMEX products come in many different models, with NOMEX 410 being one of them, known for its very high insulation strength, mechanical properties, elasticity, and resilience, widely used in electronic devices. With 12 thicknesses (from 0.05 to 0.76mm), NOMEX 410 is extensively used in various electronic insulation products.
