PVC Board is made from PVC, featuring a honeycomb structure in cross-section. It is a vacuum-formed film used for surface packaging of various panels, hence also referred to as decorative film or adhesive film, widely applied in construction materials, packaging, pharmaceuticals, and many other industries. PVC Board Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) plastic is a polymer formed by the free radical polymerization of vinyl chloride monomer, with the English name polyvinyl chloride, abbreviated as PVC. PVC can be divided into soft PVC and hard PVC. Among them, hard PVC accounts for about 2/3 of the market, while soft PVC accounts for 1/3.
SoftPVC is generally used for flooring, ceilings, and surface layers of leather, but due to the presence of plasticizers in soft PVC, it tends to become brittle, making it difficult to preserve, thus limiting its applications. Hard PVC does not contain plasticizers, has good flexibility, is easy to shape, not brittle, non-toxic, non-polluting, and has a long preservation time, thus offering significant development and application value.
PVC Foamed Board has characteristics such as corrosion resistance, moisture resistance, mold resistance, water absorption resistance, drillable, sawable, planable, easy to thermoform, and thermally bendable, thus widely applied in furniture, cabinets, bath cabinets, exhibition shelves, box cores, indoor and outdoor decoration, building materials, chemicals, advertising signage, printing, silk screen, spray painting, computer engraving, electronic instrument product packaging, etc.
PVC Rigid Plastic Board has excellent corrosion resistance, insulation, and certain mechanical strength; after secondary processing, it can be made into () grooves (tubs); medical empty needle racks, chemical racks; public restroom water tanks; templates for processed products, decorative boards, exhaust ducts, equipment linings, and various special-shaped products, containers. By the late 1960s, it fell to second place. Due to the abundant synthesis raw materials of PVC resin, low price, and rapidly increasing demand, its status has gradually strengthened. General-purpose PVC has an average polymerization degree of 500~~150 while high polymerization degree PVC has an average polymerization degree of over 1700. The commonly used PVC resin is general-purpose.
Generally, the performance of PVC resin is a white or light yellow powder, with a relative density of 1.35-1.45. The softness and hardness of the products can be adjusted by the amount of plasticizer added. Pure PVC has very low water absorption and permeability.
Mechanical properties: PVC has high hardness and mechanical properties. These increase with molecular weight but decrease with rising temperature. Rigid PVC has good mechanical properties, with its elastic modulus reaching 1500-3000MPa. Soft PVC has an elasticity of 1.5-15 MPa. However, it has a high breaking elongation rate of up to 200%-450%.PVC has general friction properties, with a static friction coefficient of 0.4-0.5 and a dynamic friction coefficient of 0.23.
Thermal properties: PVC has poor thermal stability, starting to decompose at 140℃, with a melting temperature of 160℃. PVC has a low linear expansion coefficient, is flame retardant, and has an oxidation index as high as 45 or more.
Electrical properties: PVC is a polymer with good electrical performance, but due to its larger polarity, its electrical insulation is not as good as that of PP and PE. The dielectric constant, tangent of dielectric loss angle, and volume resistivity are relatively high, and it has poor corona resistance, generally suitable for medium-low voltage and low-frequency insulation materials.
Environmental properties: PVC can withstand most inorganic acids, alkalis, and salts, as well as most organic solvents. It is suitable for pharmaceutical and chemical corrosion-resistant materials.
