Vioneo, a pioneer in the field of fossil-free plastics, announced its debut at K 2025, showcasing breakthroughs in the production of high-performance fossil-free polyethylene and polypropylene solutions. This milestone marks the beginning of the rejuvenation of the plastics industry, setting new standards for performance and sustainability.
Each kilogram of plastic can prevent 6 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions.
Data shows that even under the most ambitious scenarios, recycling and reuse strategies are expected to meet only about 50% of global plastic demand by 2050. To sustainably meet the remaining demand, Europe must accelerate alternative production pathways, such as methanol-to-olefins (MTO) from green methanol, to produce fossil-free virgin plastics on a large scale. Vioneo's factory located in Antwerp aims to deliver these commercialized materials on a large scale, ensuring uncompromising quality required by modern industries while providing significant environmental benefits. For every kilogram of plastic produced, up to 6 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions can be avoided.
