The latest response from the Chinese side: We have made stern representations to the British side and will resolutely retaliate.
According to the Chinese Embassy in the UK, on October 15, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in the UK answered questions from journalists regarding the UK's sanctions on Chinese entities.
Reporter: On October 15, the British government announced sanctions on certain national entities and individuals for supporting Russian energy entities and providing key items to the Russian military industry, including 11 Chinese entities. What is your comment on this?
The embassy spokesperson stated that the UK's sanctions are unilateral actions without basis in international law, harming the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises. China resolutely opposes this and has made a stern representation to the UK.
I would like to reiterate that on the issue of the Ukraine crisis, China has always maintained an objective and impartial stance, consistently committed to promoting peace talks, and has always strictly regulated the export of dual-use items in accordance with laws and regulations. Normal exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Russian enterprises should not be disrupted or affected. China absolutely does not accept any shifting of blame or responsibility, and firmly opposes any slander or defamation.
We urge the UK to immediately correct its mistake and revoke the sanctions on the relevant Chinese entities. Any actions that harm China's interests will be resolutely countered by China.
