Toyota Establishes New Company: Business Covers Commercial Scenarios Including Heavy Trucks
On July 28, Toyota Motor Corporation established a new company in China: Shudao Toyota Hydrogen Energy Technology (Sichuan) Co., Ltd. With a registered capital of 236 million RMB, it was jointly founded by Shudao Group, Shudao Equipment, and Toyota Motor Corporation.
The joint venture company has a registered capital of 236 million RMB and is registered in Qingbaijiang District, Chengdu. Toyota and Shudao each hold a 50% stake.
The core business covers the research and development, production, sales, and after-sales service of hydrogen fuel cell systems, stacks, and components. The products are applied in commercial scenarios such as heavy-duty trucks, buses, rail transit, and ships.
The new company will introduce Toyota's "next-generation hydrogen energy system" and establish an independent R&D team to gradually achieve localized technological iteration.
It is worth noting that Toyota's first hydrogen joint venture in China, leveraging Toyota's technology, the Sichuan terrain, and local policies, aims to become the core carrier of the hydrogen industry in Southwest China.
