In August, the domestic new energy vehicle market continued its previous recovery momentum. Leading emerging brands such as Leapmotor, XPeng, and NIO all achieved record-high sales, demonstrating strong growth resilience.

Meanwhile, the highly anticipated list of the top 10 new energy vehicle companies by retail sales in August has also been released. BYD continues to firmly hold the top position, while several companies have seen changes in their rankings. Xiaomi Auto, with a year-on-year increase of over 170%, has become the "growth champion."

From the perspective of the overall market,According to data released by the China Passenger Car Association, sales of new energy narrow passenger vehicles reached 1.115 million units in August, representing a year-on-year increase of 8.8% and a month-on-month increase of 13.0%. From January to August this year, cumulative sales totaled 7.57 million units, up 26.0% year-on-year. The association analyzed that the combined effect of multiple implicit incentive measures has stimulated strong consumer enthusiasm for car purchases. It is expected that the overall vehicle market this year will develop with a trend of "low in the early period, medium to high in the middle, and stable towards the end."

Regarding specific brands,Compared to July, several car companies in the TOP10 new energy vehicle rankings for August have changed their positions. Additionally, Xiaomi Motors successfully entered the top ten, while XPeng Motors unfortunately dropped out of the list. From the overall performance of the rankings, seven listed companies achieved year-on-year growth, with Xiaomi, Geely, and Leapmotor showing particularly remarkable year-on-year increases, demonstrating strong growth momentum. From a month-on-month perspective, seven listed companies also achieved month-on-month growth, indicating a positive overall growth trend.

SAIC-GM-Wuling Tesla ChinaRanked fourth and fifth respectively, SAIC-GM-Wuling's retail sales in August were 61,351 units, while Tesla China's were 57,152 units. Both automakers experienced a year-on-year decline, with decreases of 2.2% and 9.9%, respectively. Data shows that in August, the sales of Tesla China's Model Y were 39,413 units, and Model 3 were 17,739 units. Notably, on September 1, Tesla China announced an adjustment in the price of the Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive version, reducing it from 269,500 yuan to 259,500 yuan.

Retail sales in August reached 51,162 units, a year-on-year increase of 82.7% and a month-on-month growth of 12.4%, demonstrating strong growth momentum and outstanding performance in the competition among new energy vehicle players.

HarmonyOS Intelligent TravelIn August, retail sales reached 44,561 units, representing a year-on-year increase of 32.2% and a month-on-month decline of 5.9%. The cumulative retail sales for the year amounted to 295,942 units, with a year-on-year increase of 8.8%. The layout encompassing five major brands that it has established lays a diversified foundation for future development.Seres AutomotiveRetail sales in August reached 40,012 units, representing a year-on-year increase of 19.3% and a month-on-month slight decrease of 1.8%, maintaining overall stable development.
