The key core equipment of the Blue Ocean New Materials project has commenced construction.
On the morning of March 15, Blue Ocean New Materials (Tongzhou Bay) Co., Ltd. held the groundbreaking ceremony for the high-end polyolefin new materials project, marking the official transition of the project into a new stage of comprehensive construction of key core facilities.
The high-end polyolefin new material project is a key initiative by China Petroleum in response to the national regional development strategy and to deepen strategic cooperation with Jiangsu Province. It will fully leverage China Petroleum's existing resources and technological advantages, as well as the location and market advantages of the Yangtze River Delta region with its "deep-water ports + vast hinterland," to achieve technological breakthroughs in polyolefin elastomers (POE) and solution-based high-density polyethylene, and to realize import substitution.
The five newly constructed facilities that have commenced operation are the electrolytic water hydrogen production unit, the ethylene-propylene rubber unit, the POE unit, the FDPE unit, and the 1-hexene/1-octene unit. The main products will be widely used in aerospace, healthcare, automotive, photovoltaics, and high-end packaging film industries. It is worth mentioning that this project actively promotes the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation, with all new facilities adopting China National Petroleum's independent technologies.
Since the overall design was approved in late August last year, the project has set a record for the fastest landing and commencement of a 10 billion yuan project in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, and has become a benchmark and leading project in the construction of Nantong City and the Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone. In accordance with the unified deployment of the group company, the project is making every effort to advance the construction of the pilot base, aiming to create a platform for the integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation in petroleum refining and new materials in China, ensuring that construction starts in the first quarter and is completed within the year.
