Brighter Signals B.V. is known to provide a flexible, high-depth, multimodal tactile sensing platform. The company's fabric sensors can capture detailed pressure gradients in real-time, while offering tactile sensitivity, contextual awareness, and environmental sustainability.
According to the agreement, Changshu Automotive Trim will be responsible for the mass production of Brighter Signals' patented fabric sensors at its factory in China, with plans to expand to its European factory by 2026. This collaboration not only covers the manufacturing aspect but also aims to integrate Brighter Signals' sensors into automotive seats and interior systems, working together with other Tier 1 suppliers to create intelligent solutions. It is noteworthy that the agreement is expected to be finalized at a signing ceremony to be held in China this quarter.
According to the introduction, the core technology of the aforementioned Brighter Signals is a multifunctional tactile sensing system based on fabric, which can monitor data such as pressure, weight, proximity, motion, and position in real-time, and can distinguish between humans and objects. Compared to traditional radar, ultrasound, and piezoelectric sensors, this flexible fabric sensor is lightweight, recyclable, and sustainably produced, while maintaining high sensitivity and stability in complex environments. Its core patents cover key areas such as fabric structure, conductive layer layout, and signal algorithms.
The official statement indicates that the sensor has undergone extensive testing for over three years by leading global automotive manufacturers, confirming its accuracy, reliability, and durability. Through this collaboration, Changshu Automotive Trim and Brighter Signals will redefine how vehicles perceive and respond to their surroundings, bringing a safer and more comfortable riding experience.
