Sparks Fly Everywhere! New Energy 7-Seater Vans Enter the "Warring States Period"

Electric Train Resources 2025-08-05 09:24:57

Seven aspects are reinforced with new strong players! Foton Xiangling launches the U7, Kuayue Xingguang, Huolala Duola also makes a cross-industry entry…

The most notable differences from the previous years' six-category battle are twofold: first, product competition is no longer limited to cargo volume; 2C supercharging, intelligent driver assistance, and other new competitive focal points have emerged; second, the competition among the seven-category vehicles now includes platform players engaging in "cross-sector hijacking."

What exactly are the 7-party VANs competing for?

The most notable trend in the van market in 2025 is the fierce competition among seven major van brands. Especially since July, seven new van models have been launched in rapid succession, their momentum rising just like the temperatures in July.

According to public information, on August 1st, Changan Kuayue Xingguang officially started pre-sales. On July 28th, Foton Auman's first new energy VAN — Xiangling U7 — was officially unveiled. On July 25th, Huolala Duola officially announced its first deeply customized new energy van "Duola Bafang" through an online live broadcast.

From the information revealed at the aforementioned vehicle launch event, the competition focus is not limited to cargo space; it is also directly confronting aspects such as price, battery capacity and driving range, 2C fast charging, intelligent driver assistance, comfort, and purchase incentives.

According to preliminary statistics from Electric Vehicle Resources, currently popular 7-cubic-meter large vans are all priced below 80,000 yuan, with battery capacities around 50 kWh and a range of over 300 kilometers. The newly released model directly competes with these bestsellers, priced around 77,000 yuan, with battery capacity and range matching those popular models. It also features 2C fast charging and intelligent driver assistance functions. The wide body, flat floor, and large bunk seat design, along with a scientifically designed cargo compartment opening method and a reasonably sized cargo platform height, make the driving and riding experience more comfortable and improve the convenience and efficiency of loading and unloading.

The transformation of logistics models is shaping a landscape dominated by the "Seven Major Players."

What makes the new energy large van segment so attractive, drawing major manufacturers and even freight platforms from other industries? It is definitely not the current market size, but a foreseeable future.

Sales data show that from January to June this year, cumulative sales of new energy large vans just exceeded 50,000 units. Although the market is still small, it represents a year-on-year increase of 58.9%. This provides tremendous room for future growth in this highly competitive industry.

In addition to high growth rates and optimistic growth prospects, the true appeal of new energy large VANs to the industry lies in the infinite possibilities brought about by the transformation of logistics models. Previously, E-Car Resources published a special article titled "The New Era of China’s Large VANs Has Arrived!" analyzing this topic from the perspectives of logistics transformation and the electrification of existing traditional large van markets. Therefore, this will not be further elaborated here.

As more players enter the market for new energy 7-cubic-meter large VANs and competition intensifies, what will the future market landscape look like? According to current sales data, Ruichi EC75 currently holds an absolute dominant position in the 7-cubic-meter large van sector, forming a "Spring and Autumn Five Hegemons" alliance with SAIC Maxus V1, Xinyuan E3, Yuancheng Super VAN, and Karry Jiangtun E7.

The newly launched crossover Duola Bafang and Foton Forland’s first new energy VAN, among other vehicles, all aim to "redefine the new benchmark." Can they stand out in the fierce competition? EVResource believes that the 7-cubic-meter large van segment has entered a phase of intense rivalry among various contenders. New models with late-mover advantages still have some opportunities to break through, but the market cake will not be shared by all—ultimately, a new "Seven Warring States" pattern will be formed.

In the fiercely competitive new energy seven-seater vehicle market, can Duolabafang successfully cross over and seize a place? Can Xiangling U7 and Changan Kuayue Xingguang stand out in the competition and become the dominant force in this era of great territorial battles? The market will provide the answer!
