Shendun Gold Brick Battery Successfully Passes Industry's First "Whole Vehicle + Whole Pack" Six Consecutive Extreme Live Tests
On August 26th, Geely conducted an in-depth technical explanation of its self-developed and self-produced Shield Goldbrick battery through a live broadcast, and revealed that the Shield Goldbrick battery equipped on the Lynk & Co 10 EM-P has successfully passed the industry's first "complete vehicle + complete battery pack" powered six-series extreme tests conducted by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center's New Energy Vehicle Testing Center. Previously, the Shield Goldbrick battery cell also successfully underwent multiple extreme tests far exceeding national standards, including 8-pin simultaneous puncture, multi-surface extrusion, live bullet penetration, and 36-ton tank rolling, possessing military-grade safety.
At present, the Shendun Golden Brick battery products include three major series: super fast charging, high energy density, and super hybrid. They all possess industry-leading performance advantages such as ultra-safety, ultra-fast charging, high rate, and ultra-durability, setting a new benchmark for lithium iron phosphate batteries and helping Geely's new energy products repeatedly achieve new sales highs.
The three major series cover pure electric and hybrid platforms, with the largest Short Blade capacity and the highest safety standards.
On April 23 this year, Geely consolidated its battery business and established Zhejiang Jiyao Tongxing Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Jiyao Tongxing"), unifying its previous Jinbrick Battery and ShenDun Short Blade Battery under the "ShenDun Jinbrick Battery" brand. Among them, "ShenDun" represents Geely's ultimate battery safety system, while "Jinbrick" stands for Geely's industry-leading cell technology, achieving a powerful combination of Geely's self-developed and self-produced battery safety system and cell products.
Shendun Jinbrick Battery's current products include three major series: super fast charging, high energy density, and super hybrid, covering both pure electric and hybrid platforms, achieving full-stack self-research and self-production from cells to battery packs. Among them, the super fast charging series reaches a maximum charging rate of 5.5C, with a 3-second pulse discharge rate as high as 22C; the high energy density series achieves an energy density of 192Wh/kg, an average fast charge rate of 2.45C, and a low-temperature retention rate 8.7% higher than competitors, with a cycle life of 3,500 cycles, representing a 40% improvement over the industry; the super hybrid series requires only 11.5 minutes to charge from 80% to 100% SOC, with an end charging rate 75% higher than the industry, a maximum discharge rate of 21.02C, and a cycle life of up to 4,500 cycles.
Whether pure electric or hybrid products, Shendun Jinbrick batteries all possess "military-grade" safety standards. Since 2024, Shendun Jinbrick battery cells have undergone 6,263 tests, accumulating a total testing duration of 48,324 hours, covering 48 rigorous tests. Notably, the testing standards of Shendun Jinbrick batteries far exceed the "New National Standard." Among 36 full-scenario extreme tests, 23 test standards surpass the requirements of the "New National Standard." For 12 test items such as battery pack drop and stomp tests, they adhere to Geely's corporate standards, which are not covered by the national standard. In extreme safety tests including 8-pin (needle) penetration, live bullet penetration, multi-surface compression, and 36-ton tank rolling, Shendun Jinbrick cells showed no smoke, no fire, and no explosion, becoming a safety benchmark for power batteries.
Currently, Jiyou Tongxing has the industry's largest advanced production capacity for short blade batteries, with eight major manufacturing bases located in Tonglu and Quzhou (Zhejiang), Jianhu (Jiangsu), Ganzhou, Shangrao, Yingtan (Jiangxi), Ningguo (Anhui), and Zaozhuang (Shandong). By 2027, the company will reach a production capacity of 70 GWh. Among these, the Quzhou base has a short blade battery production capacity of 24 GWh and boasts an industry-leading full-line design efficiency of 24 PPM, meaning that each production line can produce 24 "Shendun Gold Brick" battery cells per minute.
As the first "Level 4 Smart Manufacturing Maturity Factory" in Zhejiang, and the first in the national battery cell industry, the Jiyao Tongxing Quzhou base boasts a medical-surgery-grade dust-free production environment, an 18-step core process, and a 100% automated production system. The battery cell production line also integrates a quality AI large model technology, utilizing energy vibration, optical imaging, and other AI quality inspection equipment. This precisely records and inputs data into AI models for deep analysis, achieving near "zero defects" in battery cell quality, and providing solid assurance for the "military-grade" safety of the Shendun Jinbrick battery cells.

For the Shendun Golden Brick Battery, industry standards are merely the pass line, and achieving ultimate safety in all scenarios is the goal. Building on the battery cells' successful challenge of the 8-pin simultaneous puncture and live ammunition penetration tests, the Shendun Golden Brick Battery further aims to challenge the industry's first "whole vehicle + whole pack" six serial extreme tests while charged.
The test was conducted by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, simultaneously evaluating the safety performance of the Lynk & Co 10 EM-P vehicle and the Shendun Gold Brick battery pack. The battery was fully charged during testing, closely simulating real user scenarios. Using the same Shendun Gold Brick battery pack, six rigorous tests were carried out consecutively: “dynamic load corrosion immersion, high-temperature charging and discharging, continuous vehicle underbody scraping, vehicle water wading with underbody scraping, vehicle bumping and water wading, and load-bearing external fire exposure.” Throughout the testing, the battery remained in a discharge state, highly simulating various extreme conditions users might encounter. Ultimately, after completing all the challenging tests, the Shendun Gold Brick battery did not catch fire or explode, the Lynk & Co 10 EM-P vehicle remained in normal condition, and all tests were successfully passed.
Behind the military-grade safety of the Shendun Gold Brick Hybrid Battery lies a series of innovative safety technologies. It adopts a self-developed multi-particle size compounding technology, unlocking the synergistic mechanism between the kinetics, high-temperature performance, and safety performance of lithium iron phosphate batteries. This achieves breakthroughs in enhancing thermal stability, alleviating volumetric expansion stress, and improving lithium-ion diffusion kinetics, thereby improving material safety and cycle life. The self-developed ultra-thin, highly heat-resistant insulating film enables the Shendun Gold Brick cell to easily withstand external mechanical damage and internal stress changes, providing the confidence for the cell to smoothly pass the 8-needle simultaneous puncture test. Geely’s independently developed “Molecular Armor” high-safety electrolyte technology ensures that the battery remains rock-solid even under extreme conditions.
Beyond "super safety," the Shendun Gold Brick hybrid battery also features ultra-fast charging, high discharge rates, and exceptional durability. Thanks to the industry-leading intelligent overclocking terminal fast charging technology, the Shendun Gold Brick hybrid battery can achieve tightly ordered lithium ions and enhance charging efficiency with the help of a special voltage harmonizer. In the SOC 80%~100% range, the Shendun Gold Brick hybrid battery can be fully charged in just 11.5 minutes. While typical batteries have a terminal charging rate of only 0.8C, the terminal charging rate of the Shendun Gold Brick hybrid battery can reach up to 1.4C, which is a 75% improvement over the industry standard.
Empowered by self-developed multi-size particle compounding technology and high-penetration electrolyte technology, the Shendun Gold Brick Hybrid Battery not only ensures the high dynamic performance required by hybrid vehicles but also features an internal resistance at a state-of-charge (SOC) far lower than that of its peers, along with the capability for high-power charge and discharge, truly achieving "low SOC as full SOC," maintaining strong performance even at low charge levels. Tests indicate that under low charge conditions below 20% SOC, the single cell can reach an acceleration power of 2100W in 5 seconds, compared to only 1700W for similar products, representing a 23.5% increase in low charge output power over competing products. Across the entire SOC range, the Shendun Gold Brick Hybrid Battery exhibits very strong performance, with a maximum discharge rate of up to 21.02C.
The traditional industry perception that "safety, performance, and longevity cannot be achieved simultaneously" has been overturned by the Shendun Golden Brick Hybrid Battery. The application of S+ technology enables the active coating of the battery's main materials, significantly reducing battery impedance while effectively preventing side reactions between the electrolyte and electrodes, ensuring the stability of the main material structure. The unique SEI film self-repair technology allows for the self-repair of cracks that appear in the SEI film during the battery's cyclic use, accelerating interface self-healing. Empowered by industry-leading technology, the Shendun Golden Brick Hybrid Battery boasts a cycle life of up to 4500 cycles, equivalent to a vehicle driving around the Earth 32 times, ensuring battery performance for a million-kilometer mileage.

Boosted by the Shendun Golden Brick battery, Geely's total new energy vehicle sales from January to July this year have exceeded 850,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 126%, maintaining a strong growth momentum.
