SABIC: Latest Developments in Thermoplastic Engineering Plastic Alloys!
The 100,000 tons/year thermoplastic engineering plastic alloy project by Saudi Basic Industries was approved on August 5th by the Zhangzhou Gulei Port Economic Development Zone Administrative Approval Bureau for county-level authority domestic investment project filing. The filing number is: Min Fa Gai Wai Bei [2025] E130011.
On August 6, 2024, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) announced that it had recently signed an investment agreement with the Fujian provincial government to build a thermoplastic engineering plastic alloy plant in Fujian Province.

The new factory is located in the Gulei Port Economic Development Zone, Zhangzhou, Fujian. It primarily produces LEXAN™ polycarbonate (PC) and CYCOLOY™ PC/ABS alloy compounds. The production base will be equipped with compounding production lines and testing equipment, as well as color matching capabilities, to provide material solutions that meet the application needs of markets such as consumer electronics, electrical and automotive industries, as well as emerging fields including photovoltaics, electrification, and 5G.
