Caprolactam is an important raw material for the production of nylon 6 engineering plastics and nylon 6 fibers. Solid caprolactam, as a highly anticipated export product from the Xuyang Group's Cangzhou park, has successfully secured a place in the international market with its stable quality and wide range of applications.
In recent years, the export volume of caprolactam from Xuyang Group's Cangzhou park has continued to increase, with products sold to many regions including Southeast Asia, Europe, and America, winning widespread recognition from international customers. The successful expansion in overseas markets has brought significant economic benefits to Xuyang Group's Cangzhou park, and its profitability has greatly improved along with the rapid growth in export volume, building an increasingly strong market core competitiveness and a comprehensive comparative advantage.
On February 27, Cangzhou Xuyang Chemical Co., Ltd. released a draft of the environmental impact report for the technical improvement project of its 300,000 tons/year caprolactam facility for public comment.

Existing projects: The main production facilities include a 150,000 tons/year caprolactam plant, a 135,000 tons/year cyclohexanone plant, a 300,000 tons/year caprolactam plant, a 270,000 tons/year cyclohexanone plant, a 300,000 tons/year ammonia synthesis plant, an 80,000 Nm³/h coal-to-hydrogen plant, a 343,000 tons/year 35% hydrogen peroxide plant, one 75 t/h circulating fluidized bed boiler, three 220 t/h circulating fluidized bed boilers, two 25 MW cogeneration units, one 410 t/h coal-to-heat boiler, and one 2,000 tons/year polyamide thermoplastic elastomer production line. In total, the annual capacity is 450,000 tons for caprolactam, 690,000 tons for ammonium sulfate, 2,000 tons for polyamide thermoplastic elastomer, 343,000 tons for hydrogen peroxide, 405,000 tons for cyclohexanone, and 80,000 m³/h for hydrogen. Additionally, by-products include light oil, X oil, fuel oil, alcohol-ketone oil, and heavy hydrocarbon oil. Currently, the company holds a valid discharge permit issued by the Huanghua City Administrative Approval Bureau of Cangzhou Bohai New Area, and all pollution control facilities are operating normally, with corresponding pollutants being discharged up to standard.
Construction content: Add an ammonia oximation reaction system, benzene stripping system, neutralization crystallization system, and centrifuge to the existing caprolactam facility; replace the high-efficiency catalyst for cyclohexanol dehydrogenation in the cyclohexanone facility and add one hydrogen purification system; simultaneously replace some system facilities, tower internals, heat exchangers, and pumps, as well as add some utility and auxiliary facilities.

project completedto increase the production capacity of caprolactam from 300,000 tons per year to 360,000 tons per year, and the production capacity of cyclohexanone from 270,000 tons per year to 330,000 tons per year, the by-product ammonium sulfate is expanded from an annual production of 450,000 tons to 540,000 tons.

Through "Phase I + Phase II", Cangzhou Xuyang has become the leading chemical enterprise in the caprolactam industry with the largest single-site scale, highest output value, largest commodity volume, best product quality, and lowest production cost, as well as an important nylon new material industrial base; through "Cangzhou Xuyang + Dongming Xuyang",Xuyang Group's caprolactam total production capacity has reached 750,000 tons/year, becoming the world's second-largest caprolactam producer.
