Secretary-General Fang Xiangchen provided a detailed introduction of the overall situation of the conference at the press conference. At this conference, the World Chemical Engineering Conference, the Asia-Pacific Chemical Industry Alliance Conference, and the International Chemical Innovation Exhibition were held simultaneously at the same venue, forming a global chemical innovation matrix.

He stated that this conference, themed "Paradigm Shift in Chemical Engineering to Meet Global Challenges," is of great significance. Currently, the chemical industry is at a critical period of "metamorphosis," facing numerous global challenges such as climate change and energy transition. This conference aims to gather global wisdom to collectively explore the paradigm shift in chemical engineering, stimulating new quality productivity and the development of emerging industries in the chemical sector. He emphasized that the rapid development of China's chemical industry in recent years has been remarkable. The first joint hosting of the World Chemical Engineering Congress and the Asia-Pacific Chemical Alliance Conference in China not only recognizes China's chemical strength but also brings new development opportunities for China's chemical industry, promoting industrial upgrading and green transformation. At the same time, this will also facilitate in-depth exchanges and integration among the global chemical academic, scientific, and industrial communities, contributing to the building of a global chemical community with a shared future.

It is reported that the conference will last for 5 days, consisting of six major parts: opening and closing ceremonies, 2 high-level keynote speeches, 34 thematic sub-venues, 1 international innovation exhibition, UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) youth characteristic activities, and more than 10 supporting activities including academic inspections. The conference will gather over 5,000 people from the chemical industry sectors of more than 50 countries and regions, sharing cutting-edge technologies and innovative achievements through more than 30 innovative themes in 4 major sections and over 600 frontier reports. Subsequently, Secretary Lei Ping introduced the exhibition, "The 2025 International Chemical Innovation Exhibition" will take the rich format of "one exhibition, three conferences, and six events" to build an important platform for exchange and cooperation in the global chemical field. The exhibition will set up a 11,000 square meter exhibition area, showcasing green sustainable development and cutting-edge innovation achievements in global chemical technology and industry, promoting in-depth exchanges and integrated innovation in the international chemical field, and stimulating and exploring new investment and development opportunities.
