1. Covestro AG: Reduced outlook for 2025
Covestro reduces its forecast for EBITDA, free operating cash flow (FOCF) and return on capital employed over weighted average cost of capital (ROCE over WACC) for fiscal year 2025. This is a consequence of a continuously weak global economy without signs of a short-term recovery.
2.Your Sunscreen May Be Making Plastic Marine Pollution Worse
Scientists have identified a new threat to marine ecosystems from sunscreen – specifically a common active ingredient that may be quietly supercharging ocean plastic pollution.A team of researchers at Scotland’s University of Stirling launched a first-of-its-kind exploration of the combined effects of plastic pollution and chemical contaminants from sunscreen. The study focuses on a phenomenon known as “co-pollution,” in which marine plastics serve as a platform for other pollutants like ultraviolet (UV) filters.

These recycled materials come from five recycling partners with a total annual capacity of 70,000 tons across Indonesia, India, and the Philippines.
5. EuPC warns reusable alternatives to SUP pallet wraps could backfire
A transition from single-use plastic (SUP) pallet wraps to a reusable solution would come with additional costs that could be another blow to Europe’s competitiveness, according to the results of a study commissioned by the European Plastics Converters (EuPC) association.
Looking at eight key sectors, the study sees carbon emissions rising by up to 1700%, with an estimated additional annual cost of EUR 4.9 bn. EuPC noted that the impact across the EU could be more substantial.

6. Teijin Automotive Technologies North America Renamed CSP, Transforming into an Independent Private Enterprise
As part of its transformation into an independent private enterprise, Teijin Automotive Technologies North America has been renamed CSP.
