NIO Sub-Brand Firefly Completes Delivery of 10,000th Vehicle

On July 28, it was announced that Firefly, NIO’s all-electric compact car, has officially completed the delivery of its 10,000th unit.

According to reports, "Firefly" is the third brand under NIO, launched at the end of last year. The brand is positioned as an intelligent electric high-end small car. The first model was launched on April 19 this year, offering two design styles: the Zizai version and the Faguang version, with initial prices of 119,800 RMB and 125,800 RMB respectively. The new car began delivery on April 29.

Subsequently, on June 24, NIO's Firefly launched the BaaS (Battery as a Service) battery rental and purchase plan. It is reported that BaaS can flexibly reduce the threshold and cost of car ownership. Users do not need to pay the battery cost in a lump sum; they only need to pay for the vehicle excluding the battery to pick up the car. Later, the battery will be treated as a separate product, and users can rent it by paying a monthly fee.

If you choose the BaaS battery rental service, the car price can be reduced by 40,000 yuan, lowering the starting prices of the Freedom Edition and the Luminous Edition to 79,800 yuan and 85,800 yuan, respectively. Additionally, the battery rental service fee is 399 yuan per month.

Specifically, the Firefly adopts an innovative bionic design concept. The front features a triple-ring LED light group forming a "sound-light triple concerto" lighting system, creating a unique visual effect at night. The side of the car employs a floating dual-color painting process, with an integrated color scheme for the C-pillar area and the roof, complemented by newly developed multi-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, enhancing the vehicle’s refined feel. The vehicle’s dimensions are 4003/1781/1557mm, with a wheelbase of 2615mm.

In terms of interior design, the new car features a front island armrest that can be raised, a through-space design, and dual-sided easy access. There is a drawer unit under the front cup holder for convenient storage. The car is equipped with a 50W wireless fast charging compartment, featuring an anti-slip groove with a diagonal design. It also comes with a magnetic anchor system that can be used with accessories such as tissue boxes, cup holders, glasses holders, and storage boxes.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 42.1kWh long-life battery, offering a CLTC range of 420km. With a class-leading drag coefficient of 0.287Cd and a self-developed six-in-one electric drive system boasting a comprehensive efficiency of up to 90%, the vehicle consumes only 10.9kWh of electricity per 100 kilometers.
