Microlight medical secures hundreds of millions in financing, targets global intelligent intervention market
In the capital winter, hard-core technology remains red-hot.
Recently, Shenzhen Microglow Medical Device Technology Co., Ltd. (“Microglow Medical”) completed a new financing round of several hundred million yuan. The funds will be primarily used for the global commercialization of its core products, as well as the research and development, registration, and clinical advancement of its innovative pipeline.
This round is co-led by China-US Green Yangtze River Delta and Yifeng Capital, with China Investment Corporation and Huiyu Investment participating as co-investors.

Weiguang Medical was founded in 2012, focusing on OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) technology, which is known in the industry as the "microscope within blood vessels." It presents the structure of blood vessel walls with a resolution of 10-20 micrometers, used for precise judgment during coronary intervention procedures.
In 2013, MicroPort Medical developed China’s first independently patented cardiovascular OCT system. After its product was approved for market entry by the NMPA in 2020, it began clinical commercialization. In 2023, it became the first domestic manufacturer to export OCT equipment overseas, and it has now entered more than 300 hospitals in China. In April 2025, the company’s multimodal coronary OCT system and matching catheter were approved by the U.S. FDA, making it the first intravascular imaging device from China to receive FDA certification.

In this round of financing, Weiguang Medical's positioning is changing. The company is no longer just focused on a single imaging device but is extending into a "diagnosis—treatment—evaluation" closed loop based on laser and multi-energy platforms. The diagnostic side has formed a systematic pipeline from OCT imaging systems and catheter consumables to OCT-FFR functional software; the treatment side is advancing clinical and commercialization efforts around complex lesions with instruments like the 355nm cold laser (according to company data, the world's first related RCT has provided evidence support for this direction); the evaluation side integrates pre-operative assessments, intra-operative decisions, and post-operative follow-up data streams using AI.
At the industry level, the competitive logic between coronary and peripheral interventions is shifting from a comparison of individual product performance to the delivery of overall solutions, which is also the rationale behind capital's willingness to invest in this financing.
Weiguan Medical stated that after completing this round of financing, it will accelerate the overseas expansion of its core products and the advancement of its pipeline, further enhancing its layout tempo in the intelligent interventional sector.
