Maoming Petrochemical: mPAO Patent Granted by United States Patent Office
The international patent authorization certifies that Maoming Petrochemical's mPAO technology innovation has gained recognition internationally and provides a legal protection barrier. Through international patent deployment, it will help Maoming Petrochemical overcome technical trade barriers and clear obstacles for its products to enter overseas markets.
About mPAO
In 2016, Maoming Petrochemical, guided by national strategic needs, formed an innovation team to independently develop core production technologies for high-viscosity index lubricating base oil mPAO. After seven years of dedicated effort, the team developed a complete mPAO technology with independent intellectual property rights, and established the only domestic pilot plant capable of producing a series of medium, high, and ultra-high viscosity mPAO products, thus filling the gap in domestic mPAO production technology. The product performance is comparable to that of foreign counterparts and is widely used in the wind power sector, helping Sinopec become the second company in the world capable of producing ultra-high viscosity mPAO.
Innovation knows no bounds. Over the past three years, the innovation team has driven advancements through tackling challenges, leading to increasingly mature production processes. They have successfully developed seven product series, with various indicators comparable to or even surpassing imported products, thus aiding the accelerated development of the national new energy industry.
