Korozo Group to Showcase Sustainable Flexible Packaging Innovations at 2025 Nuremberg Packaging Exhibition in Germany

Plastmatch Global Digest 2025-08-21 14:53:10

International flexible packaging manufacturer Korozo Group (Korozo) will participate in FachPack 2025 to showcase sustainable flexible packaging solutions that meet current and future needs.

Recyclable solutions with enhanced barrier properties

FachPack 2025 will be held in Nuremberg, Germany, from September 23 to 25. At booth 343 in Hall 4, Korozo will present its solutions for proteins, confectionery, baked goods, frozen foods, and snacks. Meat, fish, dairy, and other proteins are Korozo's special focus at FachPack 2025.

Korozo Protein Division Marketing Manager Kemal Yurum explained:Consumer demand for meat, fish, and dairy products continues to grow in Europe and around the world.

This increases the pressure on food manufacturers to provide packaging and displayed products to the market that offer maximum protection, extend shelf life, optimize retail appeal, and are easy to use. At the same time, today's flexible packaging must be resource-efficient and designed to be recyclable.

Korozo offers packaging solutions that meet all these requirements and more. They are suitable for various fresh, frozen, and dry foods.

Enhanced Barrier Packaging

·Recyclable and reusable options

To create sustainable solutions, Korozo's proprietary KoroRCY PE-based laminated film is integrated into bags, films, flow wraps, and other packaging structures, enabling brands to transition to packaging that is designed to be recyclable and increasingly circular.

MDO-PE mono-material packaging structure with PCR content exceeding 30%

KoroRCY has been used by many European brands to manufacture high-performance mono-material structures suitable for existing flexible plastic and PE recycling systems. These structures, with enhanced barrier and performance characteristics, make soft packaging made from KoroRCY suitable for a variety of fresh, frozen, and dry food applications, as well as many non-food uses.

The MDO-PE monomaterial packaging structure can also provide a structure with over 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. This meets the requirements of the PPWR, which mandates 35% PCR for non-contact sensitive applications by 2030.

Dr. Betul Turel Erbay, Chief Innovation and Sustainability Officer at Korozo, stated:As a manufacturer of flexible plastics and films, we position ourselves at the center of the circular packaging value chain. Innovations such as KoroRCY are essential for helping the entire industry transition to a sustainable and circular future. They also enable us to fulfill our commitment to achieving sustainability package by package.

With the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) set to take effect in about 12 months, brands and retailers need to take immediate action to ensure compliance. FachPack 2025 presents an excellent opportunity for the entire flexible packaging industry to assess its current status, recognize challenges, embrace opportunities, and step up to build a safe, reliable, and sustainable future for all.

FachPack 2025 will be held from September 23 to 25 in Nuremberg, Germany. Korozo Group will exhibit at Booth 343 in Hall 4.
