Joyson Electronics Wins $15 Billion Global Smartization Project Order From Leading Automaker
With the technological accumulation and practical experience gained in recent years, Joyson Electronics' automotive intelligence business has entered a rapid growth phase, consecutively winning global orders for central computing units (CCU) and intelligent connected automotive products from several leading automotive brands, becoming an important player in the global intelligent driving sector.
Leading in cockpit-driving integration technology, continuously recognized by multiple top-tier clients.
On September 15, Joyson Electronics announced that it has recently secured automotive intelligence project contracts from two leading global OEM customers. The company will provide central computing units (CCU) integrated with intelligent driving, intelligent connectivity, and intelligent cockpit systems, as well as intelligent connectivity products worldwide. According to customer plans, the total order value for the entire project lifecycle is estimated to be approximately RMB 15 billion, with production scheduled to begin in 2027.
This signifies that the development strength and quality performance of the company's intelligent platform products have been recognized by leading clients, further consolidating and enhancing the company's market position. In the context of continuously advancing automotive intelligence such as "Smart Driving Equality," it is conducive to the company further expanding into new global markets.
Joyson Electronics continues to focus on the fields of intelligent driving, cockpit-driving integration, and intelligent connectivity in the automotive sector, maintaining technological sensitivity and leadership in key segments. Currently, Joyson Electronics is also developing products such as the next-generation cockpit-driving integrated High Performance Vehicle Computer (HPVC), 5G intelligent connectivity solutions, and zonal controllers.
Localized adaptation, agile service for automotive high-level intelligent driving product innovation.
As a global leader in intelligent automotive technology solutions, Joyson Electronics possesses the "Local for Local" globalization layout advantage. This not only enables them to serve the intelligent upgrade of Chinese car manufacturers but also empowers overseas car manufacturers with advanced technologies and products from the Chinese market. Currently, Joyson Electronics' major clients in automotive intelligence businesses such as intelligent driving and connectivity include not only well-known leading car manufacturers but also emerging car makers. Moreover, they are working with partners to expand China's intelligent driving capabilities to the global market.
In order to continuously advance the localization and adaptation solutions for intelligent business in major global automotive markets, Joyson Electronics has introduced intelligent driving domain controller products based on different chip platforms to meet the demands of various markets and vehicle models worldwide. In 2023, Joyson Electronics launched the world's first intelligent auxiliary driving domain controller, nDriveH, based on the second-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride chip platform. This product features an integrated design for both driving and parking functionalities through deep integration of software and hardware, offering a computing power of up to 200 TOPS and supporting full-scenario functionality for L2++ to L4 level intelligent auxiliary driving.
Multidimensional efforts to accelerate the advancement of automobile intelligence.
In recent years, the concept of "intelligent driving equality" has emerged, and domestic intelligent driving chips have ushered in more development opportunities. To this end, Joyson Electronics, while cooperating with many domestic chip companies, has strategically invested in an intelligent driver assistance chip company. Based on this chip platform, they have developed an advanced intelligent driver assistance domain controller, and the related chips have been successfully activated and tested in vehicles.
Joyson Electronics has established partnerships with Momenta, Qualcomm, Horizon Robotics, Black Sesame Technologies, Huawei, and others, while proactively positioning itself in products such as cockpit-driving integration, integrated driving and parking systems, and the Internet of Vehicles. As the penetration rate of intelligent driving continues to increase, it is expected to gain more market opportunities amidst market changes.
In particular, the country has recently actively encouraged the promotion of pilot programs for the admission and road access of intelligent connected vehicles, conditionally approving the production entry of L3-level models. This will help popularize the industrial application of intelligent assisted driving and intelligent connected technologies, unleash the consumption potential of new energy vehicles, and drive growth in related market demand.
In addition, to meet the data transmission rate and bandwidth requirements for future advanced intelligent driving and high-speed in-vehicle connectivity, Joyson Electronics is also actively researching and exploring the application of optical modules in automobiles.
