Handover in the second half of the year! An annual 400,000 tons/year maleic anhydride project
BDO Research Institute 2025-03-20 09:36:03

The spring breeze caresses the face, and all things come back to life. At the installation project site of the 400,000 tons/year n-butane to maleic anhydride facility (Phase I) for the hydrogen utilization and fully degradable new materials of Fuzhou Wanjing New Materials Co., Ltd., which is undertaken by the First Company of Shaanxi Huajian, work is in full swing. The clarion call for the first quarter sprint has been sounded!

Fuzhou Wanjing New Materials maleic anhydride project is located in Jiangyin Development Zone, Fuqing City, Fujian Province. Relying on the petrochemical resources and port advantages of the park, it adopts internationally advanced n-butane oxidation process for maleic anhydride production, with a 300,000 tons/year BDO facility, forming an integrated industrial chain of "n-butane-maleic anhydride-BDO-degradable plastics." After the project goes into operation, the annual output value is expected to reach 12 billion yuan, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by over 500,000 tons per year, promoting the regional petrochemical industry to upgrade towards higher-end and lower-carbon development.

To ensure the project proceeds according to plan and meets the mid-term delivery conditions by the end of August 2025, the project management team formulated a detailed construction plan at the beginning of the year. Currently, the project is being carried out strictly according to the plan, with the project management team and workers closely cooperating, their busy figures shuttling through various work areas. In the equipment installation area, technicians carefully operate large machinery, accurately positioning each piece of precision equipment. In the pipeline laying area, workers collaborate closely, orderly connecting each pipe, with the length of piping completed daily constantly setting new records.

As of now, the completion rate for the 400,000 tons/year n-butane to butadiene unit's underground piping has reached 100%, the steel structure completion rate is 94.08%, the equipment completion rate is 90.24%, the compressor completion rate is 100%, the waste heat boiler and incinerator completion rate is 93%, and the pipeline installation completion rate is 25.84%. Various construction tasks for the supporting BDO unit are being advanced according to plan.
