General Administration of Customs Releases Import and Export Situation of Injection/Moulding/Extrusion Machines in China from January to August 2025

According to customs statistics, in the first eight months of 2025, China's goods trade continued to show a stable growth trend, with the total import and export value reaching 29.57 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.5% year-on-year (the same below). Of this, exports were 17.61 trillion yuan, up 6.9%; imports were 11.96 trillion yuan, down 1.2%, with the decline narrowing by 0.4 percentage points compared to the first seven months. According to the online platform of China's customs statistics data, the data related to plastic machinery from January to August 2025 has been compiled, detailing the import and export quantities and values of the three major categories of plastic machinery (injection molding machines, blow molding machines, and extruders) as follows:

Import Situation
 
Injection Molding Machine: In August 2025, the number of imports was 458 units, with an import value of 262,401,447 yuan; from January to August, the cumulative import quantity was 4,004 units, with an import value of 2,401,447,522 yuan.
 
Blow molding machine: Import amount in August 2025 is 75,891,930 yuan; total import amount from January to August is 408,566,903 yuan.
 
Extruder: Import value in August 2025 was 427,159,355 RMB; cumulative import value from January to August was 3,665,603,360 RMB.
 
Export situation

Injection Molding Machine: In August 2025, the export quantity was 5,279 units, and the export value was 1,497,691,556 yuan; from January to August, the cumulative export quantity was 37,662 units, and the export value was 11,431,067,771 yuan.
 
Blow molding machine: Export value in August 2025 was 356,551,716 yuan; cumulative export value from January to August was 2,252,182,559 yuan.

Extruder: Export amount in August 2025 is 619,106,999 yuan; cumulative export amount from January to August is 4,574,905,547 yuan.
 
It is expected that in the second half of 2025, the plastic machinery import and export market in China will present a general trend of "export resilience still exists, but growth rate slows down; import continues to be high-end, with intensified competition." The export value is expected to maintain growth, but the growth rate may decline compared to 2024 and the first half of 2025. In terms of imports, the total volume may see a slight decrease, but the demand for higher-priced and more advanced equipment remains strong.
