Evonik Epoxy Curing Agent Production Plants Now Fully Powered By 100% Renewable Energy Electricity

Evonik is continuously advancing its sustainability agenda, and its Crosslinkers business line has now achieved 100% renewable electricity usage at all its epoxy curing agents production sites worldwide. These factories are located in Marl, Germany; Clayton, UK; Isehara, Japan; Los Angeles, USA; and Singapore. This significant milestone will reduce the annual Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions of the epoxy curing agent production facilities by approximately one third, aligning closely with Evonik’s sustainability strategy—to achieve a 25% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030, and to reach climate neutrality by 2050.

Tobias Winkler, Global Sustainability Manager of Evonik's Crosslinkers Business Line, stated: "The decision to use green electricity for the production of epoxy curing agents worldwide is another important step on our path to sustainability. By switching to renewable energy, we are not only reducing carbon emissions, but also paving the way for innovative practices that align with long-term climate goals."

This initiative builds upon Evonik’s broad commitment to adopting green electricity and sustainable energy. Earlier this year, Evonik’s Crosslinkers business unit began ensuring that all its epoxy curing agent production sites operate on green electricity by trading green power certificates and entering into renewable energy supply agreements.
