Evante to Launch Continuous Glass Fiber Reinforced UD Tape to Enhance Production Scalability

Plastmatch Global Digest 2025-08-29 13:49:32

Evantec will showcase its advanced composite and engineered fiber solutions portfolio at the upcoming Composites and Advanced Materials Expo (CAMX) held from September 9 to 11. This includes the launch of its new Polystrand™ 50-inch wide continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic unidirectional tape and GridCore™ composite utility poles.

Provide various resins, including PP, PE, and PETG.

Evante's new PolyChain™ tape offers wide-width glass fiber reinforced unidirectional composites, enhancing manufacturing efficiency and production scalability.

It will offer various resins, including polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG), and amorphous polyethylene terephthalate (aPET). The customizable tapes manufactured in Englewood, Colorado, will drive innovation opportunities for thermoplastic composites in existing and emerging markets.

Composite utility poles: a lightweight and flexible alternative to traditional utility poles

Evant will also showcase its new GridCore™ composite utility poles, designed to enhance grid resilience as alternatives to traditional wood, steel, or concrete poles. Compared to poles made from these conventional materials, GridCore fiberglass-reinforced thermoset poles are lighter in weight and easier to install.

Compared to wooden poles, they are also more durable, require less maintenance, and are insect-resistant. These advantages can provide lower total system and lifecycle costs compared to other materials. The addition of GridCore poles expands Pulivar's market-leading pultruded composite product portfolio for the transmission and distribution market. The Glasforms™ pultrusion machines used for insulators, arresters, crossarms, and GridCore poles are manufactured in Birmingham, Alabama.
