Dreame Technology Engages with Germany Officials on Building Electric Vehicle Factory

AI Auto Network 2025-09-24 13:57:19

According to German media reports, Zhaomi Technology is considering building an electric vehicle factory near Tesla's factory in Brandenburg, Germany. The state governor, Dietmar Woidke, confirmed on September 23 that the state government has been in contact with Zhaomi Technology regarding this matter.

Dietmar Woidke stated that "there is indeed relevant dialogue between the two sides," but emphasized that such projects require thorough and prudent preparation, without disclosing further details. Previously, the Brandenburg state government had remained low-key regarding the investment by Trinamics Technology to build a factory, with the state's economic department stating that while it does not comment on specific investment cases, it will closely monitor industry trends related to the economic development of the state.

According to previous reports, Yu Hao, the founder and CEO of Zhui Mi Technology, has inspected sites in Germany and is inclined to choose a location near the Tesla factory in Brandenburg. It is said that the factory planned by Zhui Mi Technology will be slightly larger than the Tesla Gigafactory in Grünheide. Zhui Mi has not provided further comments on the related reports.

However, Alexander Gallrein, spokesperson for the Brandenburg State Economic Development Agency, pointed out that there is currently no land of a similar size to the Tesla factory (over 300 hectares) available in the state. He stated, "At least for now, there is no prepared land," and developing such an area may take several years. He also added that the speed of construction of Tesla's factory in Grünheide has become a benchmark for local administrative efficiency, and the land at that time had been developed in advance.

Previously, some media indicated that Dreame Technology's decision to establish a factory in Germany aims to leverage the mature automotive industry chain resources in the area, covering multiple fields such as precision manufacturing, electronics and electrical, and material science. This is intended to reduce logistics costs, shorten the R&D cycle, and enhance the localization and coordination efficiency of the supply chain in the European market.

However, German analysts have pointed out that while Chinese companies may accelerate their expansion in Europe in the future, the competitiveness of the German market is "poor," with issues such as high costs, unstable policies, and difficulties in long-term planning, particularly in terms of electricity prices, wage costs, and infrastructure shortcomings.

It is reported that Dreamme Auto's first model is positioned as an ultra-luxury pure electric vehicle, aiming to compete with the Bugatti Veyron and is expected to debut in 2027. The company's founder, Yu Hao, recently released a rendering of the model on social media and announced that a prototype will be unveiled at the end of the year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in the United States. Dreamme has currently assembled a research and manufacturing team of nearly a thousand people, comprising experts in smart hardware development and traditional vehicle manufacturing, forming a dual-support structure of "intelligence + manufacturing."
