According to foreign media reports, recently at a press conference held in Turin, Italy, Denis Le Vot, the CEO of Dongfeng Motor European Company, stated that Dongfeng plans to increase its sales in Europe next year to 80,000 units by launching a diversified range of models, including fuel vehicles, hybrid vehicles, range-extended electric vehicles, and pure electric vehicles. This represents a threefold increase compared to the expected level of 25,000 to 30,000 units this year.

Following BYD, Chery, XPeng, and other Chinese automakers, Dongfeng Motor has become another Chinese car brand accelerating its entry into the European market. Previously, the aforementioned car companies have gradually gained a foothold in the European market with competitive pricing, advanced technology, and increasingly mature designs.

To achieve its sales target in Europe, Dongfeng Motor will launch a product lineup comprising more than 10 models, including city commuter cars, large SUVs, and off-road pickups. This lineup will cover three major brands: the Dongfeng brand, the premium brand Voyah, and the off-road brand M-Terrain.

Xie Qian stated: "In the long term, we will definitely bet on pure electric vehicles in the European market. However, in the medium term, I believe there is still market space for plug-in hybrid vehicles and full hybrid vehicles." He also added that in some European countries like Italy and Poland, fuel vehicles still enjoy high popularity.

Xie Qian believes that "Europe is a large market with diverse demands, and we tend to adopt flexible market strategies."

Dongfeng Motor's expansion plan in Europe will rely on its dealer network. Currently, it has 170 dealerships in Europe, and this number is expected to increase to 280 by the end of this year. The company's dealer network will cover most countries in Europe, with an initial focus on Italy, Poland, Germany, and France.

Xie Qian pointed out, "Next year, we will focus on improving customer satisfaction, optimizing the quality of our dealer network, the service level of sales outlets, and the after-sales system." He also revealed that Dongfeng Motor does not rule out the possibility of establishing an assembly plant in Europe in the future, provided there is continuous and stable sales growth.
