Daqiang Plastic Solves High-Precision Processing Challenges of Ultra-Long and Ultra-Fine Core Shafts

Dalian Heavy Industry Equipment Group's subsidiary, Dalian Rubber & Plastics Machinery Co., has developed four sets of new synthetic resin extrusion granulation units for a domestic petrochemical enterprise, which are the core projects of this year and possess very high technical standards and market value. The high-precision machining of this special mandrel has long been recognized as a difficult problem in the industry, posing a significant challenge for Dalian Rubber & Plastics.

The mandrel, apart from its own ultra-high aspect ratio, is greatly affected by factors such as incoming material bending, which significantly impacts processing. To address these challenges, Daxangsu formed a task force team with the "Skill Committee" as the backbone, focusing on the three key processes of turning, grinding, and gear hobbing. Leveraging the precision processing advantages of advanced equipment such as smart straightening machines, 15-meter CNC grinders, and 15-meter CNC gear hobbing machines, they systematically formulated and implemented 15 technical tackling measures. Among these, 7 measures each were centered around lathe and grinder processing, covering core aspects like support tooling optimization, bending control, intelligent compensation, and datum transfer. Additionally, there is one standard storage specification measure, comprehensively constructing a technical support system covering the entire processing chain. During the tackling process, the project team achieved systematic control over the processing procedure through self-made auxiliary tooling, program compensation, optimization of tool and abrasive selection, and refined control of cutting parameters. This effectively resolved core processing difficulties such as large deflection, poor rigidity, and easy bending of the mandrel. Strictly adhering to the production concept of "preceding processes serving succeeding ones," the processes were efficiently interconnected, ultimately overcoming multiple technical bottlenecks in mandrel processing. The overall processing efficiency of the mandrel was improved by over 40%, achieving dual enhancements in processing efficiency and quality, and successfully realizing full-line connectivity in mandrel processing, laying a solid foundation for the smooth progression of the project.


Through this effort, 15 achievements have been fully implemented, and two key technologies will apply for utility model and invention patents. This not only marks a significant technological breakthrough for Daxiang Plastic in the field of ultra-long and ultra-fine mandrel high-precision processing, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of key projects, but also significantly enhances Daxiang Plastic's core competitiveness in the high-end equipment manufacturing sector. It has accumulated valuable experience for the meticulous processing of similar high-difficulty parts in the future, further consolidating the company's technological leading advantage in the industry.
