On August 19th, Gasgoo discovered from Tesla China's official website that the Tesla Model Y L version has been officially launched, with a starting price of 339,000 yuan and deliveries expected to begin in September.

The model is positioned as a mid-to-large SUV with a 2+2+2 six-seat layout. The wheelbase has been extended by 150mm to 3040mm, the body length increased by 179mm to 4976mm, and the height increased by 44mm to 1668mm. Based on this, the storage space is expanded to 2539 liters, allowing the vehicle to comfortably seat 6 people while still accommodating 2 24-inch and 1 20-inch suitcases in the trunk. If the third-row seats are folded down, it can hold 4 28-inch and 2 20-inch suitcases.

Adhering to the first principles, the Tesla Model Y L is equipped with dual-motor all-wheel drive, with the front motor providing a maximum power of 142 kW and the rear motor 198 kW. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Paired with an 82 kWh ternary lithium battery, it achieves a maximum CLTC range of 751 km. The vehicle weighs only 2088 kg, making it an ultra-lightweight in its class, with an energy consumption as low as 12.8 kWh/100 km. The tires feature a hybrid width design with 255/45 R19 at the front and 275/45 R19 at the rear, enhancing high-speed stability and lateral limits.

Inside, the second row features independent seats that support forward and backward movement, 125° recline, and one-touch flat folding. They are equipped with electric lift armrests and hidden small tables. The front and second-row seats have heating and ventilation functions, while the third-row seats have heating functions. The second and third-row seats can be flexibly adjusted and can be folded down with one touch to instantly transform into a "large bed."

In response to the ongoing complaints from Tesla owners about the "thermal management" issue, the Model Y L has optimized the air conditioning system. While retaining the electric adjustable air vents for the front and second rows, it has added lateral air vents for the second and third rows. Tesla has systematically optimized the thermal management system, increasing cooling efficiency by 15% while reducing energy consumption by 20%, and achieving intelligent airflow distribution for the front, second, and third rows. In addition to the roof glass, a silver coating has also been added to the tailgate glass to further insulate the cabin from external heat.

In addition, the Tesla Model Y L is equipped with airbags for the front, second, and third rows. The total length of the safety airbag protection area reaches 3.9 meters, covering more than 95% of the vehicle's longitudinal space, and can respond within milliseconds in the event of an accident. In terms of body structure, the addition of bottom plate steel beams effectively reduces intrusion from side collisions, and the overall body rigidity is improved by over 10%, further enhancing safety performance.
