CATL and Three Parties to Jointly Build EV Battery Swap Ecosystem in Car Rental Industry, Introducing Over 100,000 Battery Swap Vehicles
On August 4th, CATL's WeChat public account announced that recently, CATL, Times Electric Service, CAR Inc., and CMB Financial Leasing signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Ningde City. According to the agreement, CAR Inc. will fully introduce CATL's Chocolate battery swap models, covering multiple levels of models such as economic, comfort, and business types, suitable for the mainstream market from A0 to B class. This year, a pilot project will be launched and gradually operate over 100,000 battery swap vehicles. For the ride-hailing scenario, CAR Inc. will scale up the procurement of Chocolate battery swap models, with a focus on deploying them in first-tier and new first-tier cities.
Shenzhou Car Rental plans to comprehensively introduce CATL's "Chocolate" battery swap models, covering multiple levels including economy, comfort, and business types, suitable for mainstream markets from A0 to B class. This year, pilot programs will be launched, gradually putting over 100,000 battery swap vehicles into operation. These models will be equipped with CATL's Chocolate 20# and 25# standardized battery swap packs, offering a range of 400-600 kilometers and supporting flexible energy replenishment. They can meet diverse needs such as short- and long-term rentals, corporate vehicles, and ride-hailing services.
For the ride-hailing scenario, CAR Inc. will scale up the procurement of Chocolate battery-swapping models, focusing on first-tier and new first-tier cities. Meanwhile, Times Electric will assist in setting up a battery health monitoring platform to ensure real-time battery safety and range stability.
