BYD's Overseas Sales Ratio May Exceed 20% This Year
On September 29, the South China Morning Post reported that Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD stated that, driven by improved logistics conditions and the launch of new models, its export volume this year is expected to account for about 20% of its global sales.

Li Yunfei, the General Manager of BYD Group's Brand and Public Relations Department, revealed that BYD expects its delivery volume in markets outside mainland China to reach 800,000 to 1 million units by 2025, while its total global sales are projected to reach 4.6 million units during the same period.
Li Yunfei said, "We expect BYD's overseas sales proportion to exceed 20% this year. In the coming years, overseas delivery volume will make a greater contribution to BYD."
In 2024, BYD's sales in markets outside mainland China amounted to 4.26 million vehicles, accounting for less than 10% of its total deliveries.
Li Yunfei pointed out that BYD's own fleet of automobile transport ships has supported its surge in exports. Currently, BYD owns eight large transport ships, the largest of which can carry 9,200 cars. These ships operate on long-distance routes connecting China with major overseas markets such as Europe and Southeast Asia.
Li Yunfei also stated that BYD plans to introduce all models developed in China to the international market, further expanding its lineup for overseas markets.
Li Yunfei's statement further confirms that amidst the intense competition among about 50 Chinese electric vehicle companies for domestic market share, BYD is setting its sights on the international market to enhance its profitability.
