On August 3, 2025 local time, a fire broke out at a cosmetics raw material manufacturing factory in Geumho-eup, Yeongcheon City, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. During the incident, explosions of various sizes continued to occur, and relevant personnel are closely monitoring the firefighting situation.
 
According to Yonhap News Agency, at 12:42 PM on August 3rd, an explosion occurred at a cosmetics raw materials factory in Yeongcheon City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, causing a fire. Three employees were injured (one seriously), and one person is missing. The factory, located in an industrial park about 300 kilometers southeast of Seoul, mainly produces hydrogen peroxide and other cosmetics raw materials.
 
The explosion caused the fire to spread rapidly and produced toxic smoke. Firefighters found it difficult to enter the scene due to the intensity of the fire, and a firefighting helicopter was eventually deployed to assist in extinguishing the fire. The blast wave shattered the glass of a convenience store 300 meters away, and residents of nearby apartments reported feeling a noticeable tremor. As of 18:13 that day, the fire was basically under control, but one employee remained missing, and search and rescue operations were still ongoing. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
