Breaking foreign monopoly! Yizheng Chemical Fiber launches "Durable UHMWPE Fiber"
On the afternoon of March 28, Sinopec Yizheng Chemical Fiber Company launched its domestically innovative "Durable Lilon" new product and signed durability product cooperation agreements with five partner companies.

Shi Yunhu, Manager of the High Fiber Department of Yizheng Chemical Fiber Company, first represented the company in releasing the "durable ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber" produced through a domestically pioneered dry spinning process route, breaking foreign monopolies and independently developed: As an important domestic enterprise producing ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber, it is the only company adopting the dry spinning production process.
The newly launched durable Lilon outperforms similar imported products in terms of mechanical properties, creep resistance, fatigue resistance, aging resistance, and yarn-yarn friction fatigue resistance. It is widely applicable in deep-sea aquaculture cages, offshore wind power, mooring ropes, heavy lifting, artificial intelligence, and other fields. In recent years, the Central Document No. 1 has consistently emphasized the vigorous development of deep-sea aquaculture and the construction of marine ranches. The durable high-fiber developed by Yizheng Chemical Fiber Company is timely, meeting national needs and ensuring self-sufficiency in critical strategic materials.

The product is currently widely and successfully applied in truss-type deep-sea aquaculture cages, distributed in various sea areas in Norway, Australia, and domestically. It can withstand direct impacts from typhoons of level 17 without damage, and its lifespan is significantly better than that of competing products. After three years of application in deep waters, the strength retention rate remains above 90%. Similar products have also been successfully used in deep-sea exploration hoisting and long-term mooring of large vessels.
In recent years, with the rapid expansion of domestic production capacity for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers, there has been severe homogenization in mid-to-low-end products, leading to intense price competition. However, high-end application areas still rely on imports. Yizheng Chemical Fiber has been driving innovation in the UHMWPE fiber sector, fully committed to providing downstream industries with more green, high-end, and intelligent solutions. "The deep sea's massive waves cannot tear it, and durability does not cause deformation," the launch of this durable product marks a new beginning.

In 2025, Yizheng Chemical Fiber will continue to increase its R&D investment, deepen "industry-academia-research-application" cooperation, and strengthen industrial chain collaborative innovation. It will invest 1.8 billion yuan in the construction of the first phase of an 8,000-ton special fiber project at the Ningdong Industrial Park in Ningxia. The company aims to build itself into a petrochemical special fiber R&D and production base in China.
