German distributor Biesterfeld announced that starting April, it will exclusively distribute BASF's Elastollan brand of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the Baltic States. This move is an extension of Biesterfeld's existing partnership with BASF, aiming to expand its distribution to the Nordic region and thereby broadening its distribution rights in Europe, Middle East and Africa (excluding the UK and Ireland).

Biestfeldt states that Elastollan thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) possesses outstanding mechanical properties, including excellent abrasion resistance, tear resistance, and tensile strength, as well as high resistance to oil, grease, oxygen, and ozone. Furthermore, the product maintains good flexibility even at low temperatures and exhibits strong damping capabilities.

The Elastollan TPU product series covers various ester and ether TPU products, including different hardness levels (Svensson hardness 45 A to 83 D) of UV stabilized plastics and transparent grades. Additionally, the series includes TPU-based additives and color pigments, glass fiber reinforced and flame retardant grades.

These high-performance TPU products are widely used in various fields such as extrusion processes for hoses, cable coatings, belts, films, and profiles. They are also suitable for blow molding and injection molding processes. In terms of application industries, they primarily encompass sectors like mobility, cables, construction, industrial, household, and sports equipment, as well as textiles and footwear.

This year's cooperation between Bästfeld and BASF further solidified the companies' positions in the field of thermoplastics in the market, also providing a more extensive range of materials for the industry in Northern Europe.
