Plastmatch Global Digest 2025-09-25 11:43:03

Axium Packaging, a packaging company based in Ohio, now has the capability to store and use recycled-content plastics in a new 225,000 square-foot facility near Toronto.

The new factory has 10 plastic resin storage tanks, of which 3 are used for storing post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR plastic). Axium Packaging states that up to 30% of its packaging product line uses PCR plastic.

Axium Packaging is a New Albany, Ohio-based company that manufactures packaging products for the global consumer goods market. The company's new facility in Brampton, Ontario, has begun operations and will produce plastic post-consumer resin (PCR) materials.

The 227,000-square-foot manufacturing facility is Axium Packaging's third plant in Ontario, where Axium Packaging has been operating since 2010. The company says the Brampton facility enables it to provide "faster and more sustainable packaging solutions" to customers in one of the fastest-growing markets in North America.

"Pushminder Judge, founder and CEO of Axium Packaging, stated: 'The factory utilizes Axium Packaging's latest equipment and processing technology and will serve as our platform to serve customers across Canada in a fast and flexible manner. Canada is our home, and Brampton is the ideal place to continue realizing this vision, while also supporting our employees, their families, and the economic development of the entire region.'"

The new factory has more than 45 packaging production lines, covering processes such as injection stretch blow molding, extrusion blow molding, injection molding, as well as finished product processing and decoration.

The factory has 10 plastic resin storage tanks, of which 3 are used for storing PCR plastic. Axium Packaging states that up to 30% of its packaging product line uses PCR plastic, and its storage tank technology enables it to transition to larger-scale PCR storage to meet growing demand.

The company's Vertix recycling business unit in Ohio focuses on the reprocessing of post-consumer high-density polyethylene waste.

Axium Packaging stated that the newly added capacity in Brampton allows customers to flexibly achieve their sustainability goals while ensuring Axium Packaging's consistent speed, consistency, and quality.

Paul Judge, President of Axium Packaging, said: "We are excited to invest further in this community that supports us and to seize the growth opportunities presented by leading consumer goods companies in Canada for Axium Packaging. By introducing innovative technologies and advancing sustainable products and operations, we are proud to provide top-notch packaging solutions here and across North America."

Axium Packaging stated that the factory has enhanced its capacity to serve consumer goods companies in Canada and North America, covering categories such as personal and household cleaning products, food, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and nutritional products.
