Yakub, an Arabic interpretation of Jacob,  has maintained a successful career in entrepreneurship and has served as general manager of A Nubian Notion, Inc. and A Nubian Notion, High Dam, Inc., our family business, spanning over 40 years. Yakub’s  Collections continues in the tradition of providing quality and diverse products that reflect black culture and expressions.  Our symbol of the five elephants represents Jake and his five children bearing gifts from the east to the west as did his parents’ legacy with the legendary camel.
