Woodboard is a global operating kiteboard manufacturer located on the windspot Neusiedlersee in Austria, producing the finest rides on this planet. Manfred, founder and engineer, a pioneer board shaper, was among the first producers of snowboards in the early 1980s. He founded “MAMBOO” Snowboards and competed in the world-championship 1987 in St. Moritz/Switzerland. After discovering his passion for kitesurfing, he decided to apply his expert craft to his new sport of choice, and established Woodboard in 2011. After years perfecting our knowledge about flow and resistance in the water, we simulated the moments of load changes during take-off and landing, effects of fin size and position, channels, and outline. We worked on the plaining resistance, final speed and upwind performance, increasing the “Venturi Effect”. All that before we went into the prototyping and testing.The result is a full 3D computer designed boardline, manufactured in highest quality by masters of craftsmanship. For quality control reasons we put serial numbers for 100% traceability. Check out our woodboards. We feel successful, if we can conjure up a happy laugh on the face of a kiter. That’s one of the reasons we spend so many hours in the development of Austrian designed wooden core kiteboards. Our pricing model is based on the idea that good design and high quality are not luxuries but necessities, and their prices must reflect this idea. With the rising sales figures and satisfied customers, the number of happy laughing people is also rising. And THAT is the motivation for us. We want other kiters to come out of the water with a big smile of satisfaction after a session. All woodboard products are made in the European Union. All suppliers for the raw materials are located in the European Union. All persons involved in the manufacturing process are employed by the national labor-laws. We use FSC certified wood. We do not emit any gas or particles to the environment during the manufacturing process. We use polyethylen (PE) sheets instead of polyvenylchlorid (PVC) and recycled carton for packing. We avoid long transport distances and buying material from low-wage countries. We checked out different programs of green gas compensation. Finally we decided to procure our own woodland. The Woodboard forest is located right next to our home base in Austria. With it´s almost 1 hectare it captures around 10 Tons of CO2 yearly. This covers the CO2 emission of our production and additional some transatlantic flights of the woodboardfamily.
