Whaleys was founded in 1869 by Samuel Whaley. Since then Whaleys has evolved throughout the years from silk and jute weaving company to a renowned stage fabric supplier to theatres, arenas, halls and artists across the globe. After being well established within the textile community for many years, we had an enquiry from one of our regular customers, to see if we would be prepared to make a pair of Front of House drapes for him, to certain requirements, tentatively we agreed and with much brow beating and head scratching we produced a rather successful pair of drapes, this led us to believe that there was a gap in the market for a good quality theatre drapes company, to supply theatres, drama groups, schools and colleges.
