Since 2009, Van Hoof Sport has been building the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Group N. Our years of experience in rallying have enabled us to develop all aspects of the car in-house. The preparation starts with the chassis, which is prepared according to homologation and is fitted with a roll cage developed by Van Hoof Sport and approved by the FIA, weighing only 44 kg. During the development of the car, minimizing weight was a top priority. Lightweight materials were used wherever possible, and all components were carefully considered for functionality. As a result, the minimum weight of the Evo X in asphalt specification is only 1355 kg. (Minimum weight includes 1 spare wheel, an empty fuel tank, and an empty water tank). The new generation 4B11 engine with which the Evo X is equipped delivers more torque and power than its predecessor, the 4G63 in the Evo IX. Van Hoof Sport uses MOTEC ECUs to extract maximum power from this new engine. The mapping is fully managed in-house on our own engine test bench. This test bench allows Van Hoof Sport to extract the maximum power from this engine while also keeping reliability in mind. The suspension remains the same as the base design, but for the shock absorbers, Van Hoof Sport collaborated with Exe-tc. They have been providing shock absorbers for the Citroën WRC Rally Team for years and are therefore experts in rally shock absorbers. To make the already potent Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Group N even more competitive, an R4 variant is available. The Evo X R4 has a completely new suspension and subframes that provide a significant improvement in handling and speed of the car. All rubber suspension elements have been replaced with uniballs, making the car respond much more directly. Additionally, the R4 features a lightweight body package that brings the minimum weight of the car down to 1300 kg. As an extra option, it is also possible to equip the Evo X R4 with a sequential 6-speed gearbox.
