Västerås Flygmuseum

Västerås Flygmuseum started operations in 1999. The fantastic hangar where the business is conducted was built in the 1930s for the Air Force. The incredible wooden construction makes it a museum in itself. The collections currently comprise just over 25 aircraft. These are largely in flying condition. On Sundays, you often get to experience buzzing or whining aircraft in motion. The museum also has a cool Simulator Department that is primarily aimed at the general public. Currently we have the following simulators: - SAAB J 35 Draken - SAAB JAS 39 Gripen - Convair CV440 Metropolitan - McDonnell Douglas DC-10 - Airbus A320 - and a fully functional Linktrainer. In the museum's entrance there is a shop with a lot of interesting things for those interested in aviation. Books, models, caps, T-shirts etc. Here you can also sit down and have a coffee with a bun or an ice cream. In some of the aircraft you have the opportunity to take a ride along with experienced pilots. (More information of this under "Member Flights" above).
