TOMKAT Roofing, Inc. was founded by Larry and Kathy Tombaugh in 1985. Started as a small, family business, Tomkat has now grown to 20 employees and counting and serves customers throughout the state of Illinois. Originally, TOMKAT specialized in installing foam roofs, Conklin coatings, and shingles. In 1990, Larry was introduced to the Duro-Last product, and it is now the number one product installed by the company. TOMKAT stands behind the Duro-Last product, and Larry was even elected to the Duro-Last Advisory Board in 1993 and served as Chairman in 1995 Known for their professionalism as well as their high-quality work, TOMKAT has been recognized as an expert roofing company. TOMKAT's distinctions include the Elite Contractor Award, Century Club Award at Point Clear, AL, the Presidents Club Award, Admirals Club Award, Generals Club Award, and the 2004 ABC Excellence in Construction Award for a project completed at the Alamo II in Normal, IL. In May of 2018, Mike Wagner of AMS 360 Building Services, LLC (AMS), specializing in construction and property services, from La Salle, Illinois, purchased the corporation as a "turnkey" purchase. To complete the executive management team, Mike enlisted his AMS business partner, Ashley Bodhaine, to be VP of Business Development and Erick Kane, owner of Prairie State Insulation, specializing in spray foam insulation, in Ottawa, Illinois to fill the role of VP of Sales & Field Operations. Although the business has expanded greatly since its initial inception and change of ownership, the company still operates on the same strong family values and work ethics on which it was initially founded. With over 35 years in the roofing business, TOMKAT stands behind all of our quality products and services and we pride ourselves on being experts inaccurately inspecting, repairing and replacing roofs. Because we hold ourselves to such high standards, we specialize in Duro-Last flat and low-slowed roofing solutions while now also offering a full range of additional roofing products and systems to better serve our valued customers. TOMKAT installs approximately 100 roofs each year on both commercial and residential buildings, only slowing down during the very coldest months of the year.
