The Flooring Mill

Before setting up The Flooring Mill, Darrin and his business partners developed the construction company Cheevers & Howard Construction Limited, based in Chelsea Harbour, Central London, close to the prestigious Design Centre. During his time with CH Darrin delivered bespoke high-end finishes for some of the most discerning homeowners throughout London. Developing a passion for beautiful finishes, Darrin decided to create The Flooring Mill brand. The Flooring Mill is a family run business with more than 35 years experience covering flooring, fit-out, commercial construction and high end residential refurbishment. T F M is led by two company directors, Darrin and his wife Karen, who together with their two sons and a group of very talented individuals deliver a high quality flooring supply & installation service to both the domestic and commercial sectors, throughout the Midlands and Central London. As a business, we care about the environment we live in and it is important to us to choose eco-conscious lifestyle products that fit with our desire to protect the natural environment. We have focused our choice of flooring around their recycling properties and for that reason we have chosen products made from a natural recyclable composition or those made from recycled plastic bottles or ocean plastic waste, ideal for recycling. Our main laminate flooring supplier meets the PEFC standard for sustainability and manufacture using as few volatile organic substances as possible in processing to create a better indoor climate in your home, making it better for your health. Their production plant is powered by solar panels, wind turbines and they covert waste products into reusable energy. Our wood flooring products comply with the FSC and are sourced from responsibly managed forests. We also prefer to seat our wood flooring on recycled underlayment with a unique composition of recycled tyre rubber. Most of our carpets are made from natural fibers, prime for recycling including, wool, silks, wood, bamboo, viscose, and plastic. We only purchase energy-efficient products and the waste our business generates is sorted for recycling. We reduce waste where possible buying from suppliers who bind flooring, rather than use plastic and cardboard packaging. The Flooring Mill is deeply conscious of our responsibility to protect the natural environment and we encourage all of our team to reduce waste and conserve our expanded resources.
