Terrazzo Project

Terrazzo is a fascinating composite material produced from layers of cement interspersed by chips of stone - most commonly marble, glass or other appropriate aggregate. Since 2011, Terrazzo Project (⌂) creates tailor­made terrazzo furniture and offers interior and product design consultancy services focusing on the appropriateness of materials and their combination. Throughout the years, ⌂ has developed various processes fusing modern­day technology and traditional craftsmanship, exploiting terrazzo as a lightweight material. We want to be known as the go-to people for terrazzo. In spite of its ubiquity, terrazzo remains a largely unknown material: it is everywhere, yet no one notices. This is precisely what fuelled ⌂'s interest in reclaiming such and ancient and unexpected material - it all started with memories of high school hallways and classroom floors.
