TAMI Dogbox

The world's first inflatable and foldable dog transport box made from "Dropstitch" material. While conventional boxes made of metal weigh between 20 and 30 kg, the TAMI dog box weighs only 6 kg in medium size, is foldable into a small package, is especially easy to carry, and simple to store. This solves the problem of accommodation. Known from the TV show "Das Ding des Jahres", Ernstfried Prade (inventor of the TAMI dog box), and the Border Collie named TAMI (after whom the TAMI dog box is named) participated this year in the TV show "Das Ding des Jahres". Every dog owner in Germany is legally required to secure their dog in the vehicle so that in the event of a sudden stop or evasion maneuver, the dog does not fly through the vehicle. How this is done is left to each dog owner. The majority of conventional transport boxes on the market reliably secure the dog so that in the event of an accident, it does not become a dangerous projectile. Rarely mentioned is the potential injury risk to the dog! Our approach with the inflatable TAMI dog box was to not only protect the people in the car but also, above all, the dog. In 2019, the TAMI dog box was featured in "Das Ding des Jahres" and was viewed over 3.3 million times on Facebook (as of 09.2019)! We received many thousands of emails from these 3.3 million interested people. Some were enthusiastic about this innovative dog box, while others were very critical, as many dog owners did not believe that in the event of an accident, the dog would receive protection; rather, they assumed that the box would simply burst and provide no protection at all. At the DTC – Dynamic Test Center in Switzerland, we conducted comprehensive crash tests. Here, we simulated a typical setup with a TAMI trunk box behind the rear seat and a TAMI backseat box on a three-part rear seat. Dummies weighing about 20 or 23 kg were used at a speed of 50 km/h. Result: The TAMI dog box passed the crash test with flying colors! It is pleasing to see in the video with the frontal camera that the dog dummy's body hits the air-filled wall of the dog box at the moment of impact and is completely surrounded, similar to an airbag. Of course, the box also protects the people present in the car from the dog's body. This proves that the inflatable TAMI dog box represents an excellent transport option for the dog while protecting both the dog and the people in the car. The fears of many people that the dog box would burst have not been confirmed. Many thousands of holding threads between the walls of the dog box guarantee incredible strength. We will continue to make our TAMI dog box available for further dog box tests conducted by various institutes or magazines so that it can be compared to other boxes. The TAMI dog box is also the ideal dog box for the home. The modern, timeless design fits any interior. The box can be opened from the front and also from the top. However, one can also let down the front door to create a calm retreat for the dog.
