Tamarindo Board is a small family run Paddle and Surf business based in Hampton Roads. Our warehouse in is Chesapeake, VA. We have officially been in business since 2016. We are looking for a dependable, dynamic part time person to help with the day-to-day operations and sales. This is a fun job if you are interested in paddle boarding and/or surfing, but requires some work and hustle. Employees get employee discounts, access to demo equipment including surf and paddle boards, e-foils, etc. Discounted surf trips and some free apparel. Integrity and the ability to learn quickly are more important than experience. In addition to surf and paddle products, we also distribute Surrey Bikes and commercial arcade machines. This position requires someone that can think and operate like an entrepreneur, has excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, is able to problem solve independently, and learn a variety of tasks and skills needed to operate a small business. This is not a sales position sitting on the computer or phone, you will be meeting with customers, making deliveries, sales calls, board recommendations, troubleshooting customer inquiries, packing, shipping orders, handling claims, bike assembly/repair on occasion, social media and digital marketing, web design, inventory and warehouse management. Pay is starting $17-$20 an hour with bonus/commissions. Required minimum skills: Integrity and interpersonal skills Computer skills including Excel, Word Sales and lead generation Ability to drive with a trailer in tow Occasional travel (mostly day trips, but some overnight) Lift large and heavy objects Good driving record and clean background check Handy skills, ability to troubleshoot and solve problems, assemble surrey bikes, build board racks, etc. Self-starter and faster learner. Preferred Skills: Experience Surfing and/or paddle boarding Familiarity with paddle/surfboard construction, repair, shapes Ability to assemble/repair surrey bikes and arcade machines (or capacity to learn quickly) Web design/ digital marketing and social media management Graphic design/screen printing Sales experience. Job will be performed on site in Chesapeake with some hours in other locations for deliveries/pickups, etc. Schedule is flexible to work around your other obligations but will require standard weekly hours during spring/summer season. Anticipate 5-10 hours per week in colder months and 10-20+ hours per week in warmer months. Must have a clean background check.
