TMS Photometrics History 1983 - 1990 Tailor Made Systems (TMS) was founded in 1983 and has been involved with airfield lighting since 1991 when commissioned by the UK Civil Aviation Authority, Ministry of Defence and DERA (Defence Evaluation and Research Agency) to study the performance of airfield lighting systems. 2000 - 2009 The MALMS Mobile Airfield Light Monitoring System has been developed using the knowledge and experience gained in the UK research program. 2010 - 2017 The range and scope of MALMS products and services has been developed extensively over the years to provide the complete range of solutions necessary to effectively and efficiently maintain compliant airfield lighting. 2018 - Present MALMS now has a global presence with approximately 500 MALMS systems in operation around the world. MALMS is widely recognized as the best photometric measurement system available (see our case studies) and a policy of continual development is designed to ensure that this leading position is maintained.
