Sika Design has been designing and manufacturing the finest handmade furniture for more than 70 years — from its humble origins in 1942, with a first batch of lamps, tables and baskets made of rush and willow, to an internationally acclaimed company trusted by many hotels, restaurants and cruise ships all over the world. Nowadays, we’re proud to be one the oldest Scandinavian producer of rattan and wicker furniture. We take pride in guaranteeing the best levels of quality, comfort and sustainability in all of our products. Each and every one of our pieces are handled with care and passion, from the designing phase, (performed by some of the best furniture designers in the world), to the thoughtful manufacturing process taking place in our own factory in Indonesia. Sika Design is a Danish family company from 1942. With a passion for rattan, we manufacture timeless furniture in both our own designs and in designs by some of the world’s greatest architects. Rattan is often confused with bamboo, but unlike hollow bamboo, rattan is a solid material. This makes rattan highly bendable and can therefore be transformed into the most amazing shapes. The fact that rattan is a solid material makes rattan furniture very durable and able to last for generations. At Sika-Design we have a large selection of charming bistro furniture inspired by the colorful bistro chairs seen all over Paris. With the charming café furniture, you can bring the French café atmosphere home on the terrace or in the garden, without worrying about maintenance. All our outdoor wicker furniture is handmade from aluminum and woven with ArtFibre, which can withstand standing outside all year round. Arne Jacobsen, Nanna & Jørgen Ditzel, R. Wengler, Franco Albini & Franca Helg, Viggo Boesen and Tove Kindt-Larsen were all pioneers of their time. They broke new ground when they made experimental shapes of the sturdy material rattan and wicker, creating sculptural and timeless icons. These exclusive design pieces, originally designed in rattan, are made of aluminum and ArtFibre for outdoor use. Our garden furniture is all handmade and woven in weather-resistant materials that can be left outside all year round and require minimal maintenance.
