Due to the tragic nature of these injuries and deaths, Shock Alert was created to detect the presence of electrical voltage in water. Shock Alert can save lives! Each year we are made aware of more incidents where victims die or are severely injured due to electrical voltage present in water. Children are especially vulnerable due to their smaller body mass, but men, women, children and even pets have been affected by Electric Shock Drowning. It is impossible to know how many “drownings” occur each year as the result of electricity in water. Unfortunately, many of these incidents are incorrectly recorded as a drowning rather than an Electric Shock Drowning.
