Over more than 40 years, we have introduced thousands of people to the waters around Orcas Island with our sea kayak tours, instruction, and retail. We use the best kayaks and equipment available, have a dedicated staff of qualified guides, and know the islands better than anyone. Others have come and gone since then, but we have grown and improved over the years. Jeff Zbornik began guiding for Shearwater in 1990 and bought Lori’s half of the business in 1994. Corey Homewood joined as a guide in 2013 and became a co-owner with Jeff when Tom retired in 2018. Jeff & Corey continue leading the company with the traditions of well-trained guides, high-quality equipment, safety on the water, and respect for wildlife and the environment.
